Very first Model Drawing Session

A new class I am taking this semester is Intaglio. This was my first assignment. Its dry point which is etching into a plexiglass slab. Im really enjoying this class so far.

This was the last 5 minute pose! I was so surprised at how much improvement there was in just a 3 hour session so Im excited to see what the drawings will be like after a whole semester.

This was the first 15 minute pose.

I think I found my new passion.... Model Drawing! Although it probably helped a bit that my first model was a good looking young guy but besides that the 3 hours flew by! It was so much fun! We started the session off with 2 second, 5 second and 10 second poses. It was pretty much just scribbles on the page to get warmed up then we moved into 15 minute poses and lastly a 5 minute. All alternating between standing, sitting and lying down poses.

Serigraphy (Silk Screen)- Using any method we wanted doing any subject we wanted. I chose chess for a political piece and wanted to play with depth a bit. I used photo stencil, liquid stencil and cut outs for a total of 13 stages.
Painting I- We were to choose a paint chip with an appealing name and create a painting using mostly that colour to interpret the name. Mine was a red colour called "Drum Beat". There are actually 3 people in this painting... see if you can pick them out! 24"x 30" Acrylic on Canvas
Visual Studies- A small sketch I did when we were designing CD covers 3"x 3" coloured Pencil
Graphic Design- We were asked to represent the four season using items that were not "cliche" 4- 10x10

Psychological self portrait. One of my favorite pieces I have done but also the type of painting where I think... I cant really hang that in my house? and no one wants a picture of me looking like a crazy lady haha But I always loved drawing people so this made me realize that maybe I can also love painting people.
It looks so small on here. This is actually 4' x 4' so its quite big.

I cant believe this is the only picture I have of my graphic design class. I will definitely be getting more up hopefully soon. We were to choose an animal or insect and do a realistic sketch then break it down and make it "graphic" plus add a quirky saying. This is from my design history class which was painful to get through but I got to design a swatch book.
Sculpture.... Was always good to be done and pretty fun getting to the final product but I dont know if sculpture will be my thing. This piece was any abstract sculpture that had to be appealing from all sides. We used subtraction of plaster (Started out the size and shape of a milk carton)

We were to sculpt our own faces by addition of clay.
These three are serigraphy prints (Aka silk screen). Very fun class!

Second Assignment using cutouts and liquid stencil.
3rd assignment using cut out, liquid stencil and photo stencil
First assignment using cutouts only
This is my first year drawing. Unfortunately I only have pictures of a couple. I will have to track down my others and take pics. This semester I am taking figure drawing and am SO EXCITED about it!

My very first drawing assignment. We were to reproduce any photograph of our choice. Graphite pencil.

We were asked to reproduce a drawing done by a master. This is a reproduction of a drawing by Renoir (probably not most peoples first choice but hes one of my faves) -Conte on paper
